In a few weeks the center  is hosting a Core Barre certification. CORE BARRE is a group based exercise program that combines elements of the pilates mat, ballet and resistance training.

Here’s five reasons why you should join us:

Core Barre was created by Monica Hoekstra, a Stott Pilates Instructor trainer, based out of Charlotte North Carolina.  Monica will be teaching the certification here at our studio on Saturday February 11 from 1:00 pm – 7:30 pm..

1. Core Barre offers a full body workout.
Core Barre focuses on intensive movements that sculpt the thighs, tone and firm the glutes, flatten the abdominals and define the arms. This is followed by isolated stretching to lengthen, tone and increase joint flexibility. Its a well rounded, results driven, exercise method.

2. Clients Love it
Core Barre is fun to do and addresses commonly mentioned goals head on (how many of your clients want to firm, tone, and tighten their hips, thighs, arms and abs?). At the end of a class, your clients will feel like they have addressed areas they want to change in their bodies. Plus the mixture of movement with music, combined with camaraderie of fellow students creates a satisfying experience. And when your clients see the results this method provides, they’ll be hooked!

3. It’s fun to teach
This is a high-energy mat based barre workout done to music. The mix of small weights, mini-stability balls and the ballet barre provides a completely new format for teaching in a group setting.

4. You’ll learn a lot
The method is based on solid biomechanical principals. The purpose of the course is to teach the instructor how to program, cue and motivate classes filled with individuals of different skill levels. No worries about adapting the exercises to meet the needs of all of your clients.

5. There’s lots of back-end support
You’ll be provide with suggested class formats, music and support materials to help you succeed. Plus for a small fee you can be listed as a licensed provider. This will drive more business your way. Absolute Pilates in Charlotte can provide you with suggested resources to purchase bars and the small equipment used.

I’ve ordered a couple of bars (I’m really excited – the bars are foldable and storage will be a breeze) and will have enough room to accommodate 12 – 15 people. I hope that you’re one of them!

Warmly,

Mary Jo
