I am sitting on the balcony here at Surf Watch in Hilton Head watching about 20 people on paddleboards getting some morning surf. I am definitely going to rent one of those later in the week and give it a spin.

You may be wondering what Pilates Instructors at the center do for fitness while they are on vacation from Marietta.

This week I plan to do a few mat workouts, take some yoga classes at a local studio, and get some swimming in. But what I am really excited about is my TRX suspension trainer. I brought it with me to the beach.

I love how the door anchor attachment makes it so easy to set up. I did some strength training this morning while listening to the waves outside. (I didn’t know I was being filmed!)

TRX can be taken to a whole new level by Pilates practitioners. By applying the basic breathing and stabilization principles of STOTT PILATES to TRX exercises, one can get a full strength and core conditioning workout. To me it’s like doing pilates standing up.

And much easier to pack than a reformer!

Wishing you a happy and safe July 4th holiday.

p.s. You can order your very own TRX Suspension Training Bundles right here at www.thecenterpilates.com. It comes with a really great Basic Strength DVD. I recommend getting the “Door Anchor” accessory if you plan to take it on your travels. mary jo falvey, tott pilates instructor from marietta, does trx on vacation
