COURSE SUMMARY:
CORE BARRE is a group based exercise program that combines elements of the pilates mat, ballet and resistance training. These workouts emphasize precise and intense movements to define and condition muscles while increasing joint flexibility. The rules of CORE BARRE follow current biomechanical concepts to create strength and nuero muscular awareness in addition to proper joint flexibility for optimal movement.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Learn how to challenge clients by using pilates mat concepts. Develop the skills to teach a high energy mat based barre workouts designed for movement professionals. The use of small equipment such as light weighted balls (1-3) pounds, small stability balls, and the ballet barre add exercise variations for different body types and postures.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Develop the skills to design a group barre class with the use of weighted balls, small stability balls and the ballet barre. Learn how to choreograph as well as modify exercises appropriate for a client’s skill level and body types. The purpose is to teach the instructor how to program, cue and motivate classes filled with individuals of different skill levels. The course provides tools such as musical considerations, biomechanical concepts and ballet terminology to enable instructors to create a variety of CORE BARRE classes.

6 HOUR COURSE DESCRIPTION:

1.5 ACE Credits awarded towards continuing education – 15 hour/3 day course.
